SmartPaw, a Georgian startup supported by Future Laboratory Ventures, has successfully raised USD 25,000 in funding from American angel investors.

Founded by Guga Abashidze, SmartPaw is developing innovative technologies and services in the pet care industry, offering a modern, automated solution for responsible pet owners.

“Our subscription-based service helps pet owners maintain consistent and healthy feeding routines,” says Abashidze. “Customers pay the same price for pet food as in stores, but enjoy free regular delivery and receive a SmartPaw Feeder device. This smart device is programmed to dispense the right amount of food at the right time, ensuring pets are fed properly even when their owners are busy.”

SmartPaw is part of the Future Laboratory Ventures portfolio, Georgia’s first licensed venture fund supporting early-stage startups. The startup connected with its American investors during a demo day hosted by the fund, quickly securing the USD 25,000 investment.

SmartPaw is now in negotiations with regional venture capital funds to close a USD 100,000 seed round that will help scale its operations.

According to Irakli Kashibadze, Managing Partner at Future Laboratory Ventures:

SmartPaw’s success highlights the potential of Georgian startups to attract international investment and compete globally. Our mission is to back bold, innovative projects like this and accelerate the development of Georgia’s venture ecosystem.”

The company plans to expand to Caucasus, Eastern European, and Central Asian markets, where pet care spending exceeded USD 1.3 billion in the past year.
