Georgian startups attracted more than 25 million GEL in 2020 amid pandemic, - Natia Turnava, the candidate for the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development declares.
According to her, special attention is paid to the digitalization of the economy in the post-pandemic period, including the introduction of new technologies and development of startups.
As of Turnava, the Georgian government has introduced a special tax regime for companies with international company status in the IT industry. According to her, as a result, two international companies "EPAM" and "Exadel" have entered Georgian market and plan to employ up to 2,000 local staff.
Moreover, she notes that technology parks were opened in Batumi, Kaspi and Gurjaani in 2020 and this process will continue.
