Georgian wine was showcased at the La Grande Dégustation de Montréal Festival of Wine and Alcoholic Beverages, organised by the National Wine Agency and with the support of the Georgian Embassy in Canada.
Held annually for fifteen consecutive years, the La Grande Dégustation de Montréal Festival welcomes approximately 10,000 visitors each year. The festival showcases wines from Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, Romania, and various other countries. Sommeliers, journalists, buyers and importers tasted varieties of Georgian wine.
Georgia’s chargé d’affaires in Canada, Salome Kurasbediani and embassy representatives participated in the event.
Georgian wine exports to Canada have steadily increased in recent years. According to 2024 data, about 200,000 litres of wine were exported to Canada, which represents an increase of 16% YoY. The revenue received from exports reached USD 1.1 million.
