Georgia’s real GDP grew by 6.3% year-on-year in August 2026, while the average growth rate for the first eight months of the year reached 7.6%, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Turnover generated by private businesses, including VAT-paying enterprises, totaled GEL 16.85 billion in August, marking a 12.1% increase compared with the same month a year earlier.
Economic growth was recorded across nearly all major sectors, with construction being the only sector to post a decline during the month.
According to Geostat, the strongest contributions to growth came from manufacturing, information and communication, financial and insurance activities, real estate-related activities, trade, and transportation and storage.
