Georgia’s foreign direct investments (FDI) stood at 136 million USD in Kazakhstan in 2020, - TBC Capital published a report on Georgia-Kazakhstan Enhancing Economic Partnership.
According to the report, Georgia’s FDI in Kazakhstan posted a record breaking amount in 2020, exceeding the previous 15 years’ average by almost 20 times.
Kazakhstan stands in the top 20 countries with the highest registered FDI inflows in Georgia in the 2005-2020 period.
In terms of FDI inflows in Georgia from Central Asia, Kazakhstan is the undeniable leader, holding up to 86% in the same period. FDI inflows in Georgia from Central Asia totaled to 298.9 million USD (2005-2020), while 259.8 million USD accounted for Kazakhstan.
Throughout the past five years, the majority of Kazakhstan’s FDI inflows in Georgia came on the construction, HORECA, transportation, real estate, and the financial sectors.
