Georgia’s Imports of Holiday Goods Drop to $9.5 MLN in 2025

საახალწლო და საშობაო საქონელი

Georgia has imported $9.5 million worth of New Year and Christmas goods in the first 11 months of 2025, marking a decline compared to last year's record numbers.

Official statistics show that the country brought in 1,426 tons of holiday-related products valued at $9.507 million, reflecting a 17.4% drop in value and a 13.1% decrease in volume compared to the same period in 2024.

China remains the dominant supplier, accounting for 81% of total imports. The overall decline was largely driven by reduced purchases from China. Between January and November 2025, Georgia imported 1,287 tons of Christmas and New Year goods from China worth $7.705 million. During the same period last year, imports from China amounted to $9.2 million and 1,449 tons.

While China continues to lead, Georgia also sourced holiday goods from several other countries. These included:

  • Netherlands – $901,000 for 44 tons
  • Hong Kong – $183,000 for 24 tons
  • Bulgaria – $168,000 for 23 tons
  • Poland – $116,000 for 13 tons
  • Ukraine – $68,000 for 10 tons
  • Belgium – $63,000 for 1 ton
  • Germany – $55,000 for 7 tons
  • France – $43,000 for 3 tons
  • Estonia – $35,000 for 600 kg

Despite the decrease, the data indicates continued strong demand for seasonal products, with China remaining the overwhelmingly dominant market.
