Georgia’s IT sector continued its rapid expansion in 2025, becoming one of the country’s main sources of foreign currency inflows. According to newly published data from the National Bank of Georgia, the sector generated $1.15 billion in external revenue, marking a 67% increase (an additional $459 million) compared to the previous year. This performance made IT a key contributor to economic growth, with the sector expanding by 28.7% in 2025 alone.

The surge in revenue and activity can be linked to the significant migration-driven boom that began in 2022–2023. Thousands of IT professionals from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus relocated to Georgia, registering companies or operating as individual entrepreneurs. Their services are recorded as IT exports, substantially boosting sectoral statistics. Employment in the information and communication sector rose from 30,600 people in 2021 to 39,000 in 2022, reaching 54,500 employees by 2025.

The sector also remains the highest-paid in the country. As of the fourth quarter of 2025, the average monthly salary in information and communications reached 4,433 GEL, the highest among all industries in Georgia.

With sustained foreign demand and an expanding talent base, the IT sector continues to strengthen its role as one of Georgia’s most dynamic and economically significant industries.
