The sole glass manufacturer company in Georgia, LLC “Mina”, saw its revenue grow by 43% in 2024, reaching nearly GEL 100 million, according to the company’s 2024 financial report. Operational profit for the year was GEL 3.26 million, though the company closed the year with a GEL 1.1 million loss, an improvement from GEL 10.7 million loss in 2023.

Currently, the factory operates two glass furnaces and four molding lines. One furnace, the “B” furnace, was upgraded in 2023, and the “C” furnace was completed in July 2025, increasing the daily capacity of each furnace to 100–150 tons and raising the company’s annual production from 60,000 tons to 90,000 tons.

The company employs 230 people, primarily local residents, with 75% of the workforce in the labor category in 2024. The majority of revenue - GEL 93.1 million - comes from domestic sales, while export revenue doubled to GEL 6.9 million, with Azerbaijan as a key export market. Major local clients include IDS Borjomi Georgia, Tsqali Margebi, Lomisi, Global Beer Georgia, and Marneuli Food Factory.

LLC “Mina” is fully owned by Turkish company Şişecam, which ranks among the world’s top five glass manufacturers. The company cites legislative, tax, and regulatory challenges as its main hurdles, noting that frequent changes and differing interpretations of rules continue to complicate operations in Georgia.
