Georgia’s Pension Fund Surpasses GEL 8.8 Billion Amid Iran-Related Market Volatility

საპენსიო სააგენტო შენობა

As of March 31, Georgia’s pension fund reported total assets exceeding GEL 8.8 billion, with cumulative earnings surpassing GEL 2.4 billion.

In March, the conservative portfolio showed a slight 0.39% decline, while balanced and dynamic portfolios fell 1.85% and 3.08% respectively. The fund attributed the losses to increased global market volatility linked to the escalation of the conflict in Iran, which drove up oil prices and affected investor sentiment in stock markets.

Despite the volatility, all portfolios have maintained positive returns since the start of the year, with cumulative earnings ranging from 11% to 13%, and the dynamic portfolio remaining the top performer.

By the end of March, 1.727 million people were enrolled in the pension scheme. 30,138 participants received pensions totaling GEL 145.5 million.
