Georgia exported 788.6 tons of snails worth $2.7 million in January-August 2026, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
Compared with the same period last year, the volume of snail exports increased by 74%, or 335 tons, while export value rose by 76%, or $1.2 million.
Georgia’s main export markets are France, which accounts for 70% of exports, and Turkey, with 30%.
Snail exports have been growing steadily. In 2025, Georgia exported 571 tons of snails, 2.1 times more than in 2024. Georgia has been permitted to export snails to the EU market since December 2021.
