Georgia’s snail exports increased by 149.2% year-on-year in value during the first six months of 2026, reaching $2.07 million, according to Geostat. Export volumes also rose by 99%, totaling 711.1 tons.

France and Turkey were the only export destinations during the period. France imported 127.1 tons worth $1.2 million, while Turkey purchased 584 tons valued at $800,300.

The upward trend continues from last year, when Georgia exported 571 tons of snails, more than double the volume recorded in 2024.

Georgia has been allowed to export snails to the European Union since December 2021, supporting the sector’s continued growth.
