The 9th member of the Pension Agency Board will be Giorgi Gurgenidze, the Head of Capital Market Development, Insurance Policy and Pension Reform Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
It should be noted that he was not selected through competition and will be an ex-officio member of the Governing Board.
According to the government decree, the Governing Board consists of 9 members, 8 of them are appointed by the Prime Minister through an open competition, while one is an ex-officio member. As of the decree, the ex-officio member is the Head of Capital Market Development, Insurance Policy and Pension Reform Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Competition for comprising the Pension Agency board has been concluded and the election commission has identified 8 candidates. Among the selected candidates, three are foreigners and 5 are Georgians.
