Minister of Education and Science Givi Mikhanadze announced that he will present the concept for general education reform tomorrow. He made the remarks to journalists following a government meeting.
According to Mikhanadze, the document has been reviewed with relevant stakeholder groups, and after reconciling positions, it will be submitted to the government.
“I would like to take this opportunity to say that the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth has prepared the general education reform concept after several months of work. I will present it publicly tomorrow. This will be a comprehensive school reform, following the same procedure used for the higher education concept: the document will be discussed with target groups, positions will be reconciled, and the final version will be submitted to the government for approval,” Mikhanadze said.
He added, “After government approval, we will take concrete steps to implement the school reform in parallel with higher education reform. Establishing a strong connection between educational levels is essential for the reform’s effectiveness and completeness. This is crucial for achieving a successful and fundamental reform that contributes to the advancement of our society and country.”
