On May 17, Armenian Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Armen Simonyan, met with representatives from the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
According to the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, the Deputy Minister welcomed the guests and highly appreciated their extensive cooperation with the German company for international cooperation.
During the meeting, Armen Simonyan emphasized the support provided to the aviation sector and highlighted the importance of exchanging experiences in the development of Gyumri's "Shirak" airport.
GIZ representatives showed interest in the existing issues of Armenia's transport infrastructure and industry specifics, presenting their proposals aimed at further development and modernization of the infrastructure.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue discussions.
GIZ has been operating in Armenia since the early 1990s and established its country office in Yerevan in 2002. One of GIZ’s focuses in Armenia is the conservation of natural resources. Measures to improve land resource management are specifically aimed at preventing pasture degradation.
At the same time, innovative methods are being developed to help low-income households reduce expenses and meet the demand for natural resources in rural areas. GIZ also optimizes water resource management to protect Lake Sevan.
