World Hypertension Day is a global healthcare awareness initiative aimed at educating the public about the risks of high blood pressure and emphasizing the importance of regular monitoring and a healthy lifestyle. Hypertension is one of the leading risk factors for heart disease and stroke, affecting more than one billion people worldwide. Often referred to as the “silent killer,” hypertension frequently develops without noticeable symptoms, while significantly increasing the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney disease.
World Hypertension Day (WHD) was established in 2005 by the World Hypertension League (WHL). This year’s campaign slogan is “Controlling Hypertension Together!” The initiative aims to raise public awareness about the risks associated with high blood pressure, promote prevention, and encourage regular blood pressure monitoring.
In connection with World Hypertension Day, the multinational international pharmaceutical company GM PHARMA once again joined the global campaign dedicated to increasing public awareness about the risks of hypertension and the importance of prevention.
As part of the company’s initiative, residents across various regions of Georgia were given the opportunity to receive free qualified medical consultations and essential diagnostic examinations. Specifically, within the framework of GM PHARMA’s program, patients were able to consult with cardiologists and undergo necessary diagnostic procedures, including electrocardiography (ECG), and, when needed, echocardiography.
Free medical screenings were conducted in several cities across Georgia, including Tbilisi, Telavi, Zugdidi, Batumi, Gori, and Rustavi. The primary goal of the campaign was to provide timely public awareness, support early disease detection, and prevent potential complications.
It is important to note that hypertension is one of the main contributing factors to the development of various cardiovascular complications. Medications for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases are included in the state program for chronic disease treatment, where GM PHARMA’s medications are actively represented.
The Universal Healthcare State Program is available to socially vulnerable individuals, pensioners, veterans, persons with disabilities, and residents living in villages adjacent to the occupation line.
For many years, GM PHARMA has been actively participating in both international and local healthcare campaigns. Through various social responsibility initiatives, the company contributes to raising public awareness, promoting disease prevention, and improving access to high-quality medical services.
We would also like to remind you that GM PHARMA’s pharmaceutical products and biologically active food supplements (BADs) are manufactured in GMP-certified facilities located in Western European countries (such as Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and others) as well as in Georgia.
It should also be noted that the company holds all national and international certifications and licenses required for pharmaceutical manufacturing, including the Georgian National GMP Certificate, international PIC/S and EAEU GMP Certificates, ISO 9001:2017, ISO 17025, and others.
Additionally, it should be noted that GM PHARMA’s Research and Development Laboratory is actively working on the development of new pharmaceutical products. This means that new medications will soon become available both in the local market and in the international markets where GM PHARMA operates, further simplifying and improving the fight against various diseases.
Since its foundation, the company’s mission and values have remained unchanged - continuous improvement of quality and products based on scientific approaches and industry best practices, as well as the production and supply of medicines that improve patients’ quality of life and help extend life expectancy.
