Goal Of the American Congressman's Initiative Is To Rekindle The Extinguished Protest Mood - Mdinaradze

ქართული ოცნება

Georgian Dream Executive Secretary Mamuka Mdinaradze posted a statement on the social network regarding the information spread by Politico, according to which the USA can allocate a comprehensive package of support in the field of economy and security to Georgia, if the Georgian government refuses the growing anti-Western rhetoric and stops the backsliding in terms of human rights.

According to Mdinaradze, "the purpose of this test initiative is to rekindle the extinguished protest mood".

As Mamuka Mdinaradze points out, it is unthinkable to threaten the legislator of a friendly country with sanctions and to trade on the fate of the country and its sovereignty.

According to him, the demand to give up transparency and independence in return is even more unacceptable than the groundless refusal of the partnership issues listed above.

"1. What they are trying to sell today as the position of the USA is so far only an initiative of one congressman, similar to which many others have been initiated, but to no avail.

The initiative contains both threats and a trade with the country on its sovereignty.

Threats - with sanctions,

Trade - with visa liberalization, military assistance and free economic relations.

Actually, the purpose of this test initiative is to rekindle the extinguished protest mood. This is a new lifeline for the collapsed opposition. We also see their corresponding, hysterical reactions.

It is unthinkable to threaten the legislator of a friendly country with sanctions and to trade on the fate of the country and its sovereignty.

Strategic partnership and friendship means that visa-free travel, free economic relations and direct flights are opened without any trade and threats, which was our repeated call!

The demand to give up transparency and independence in return is even more unacceptable than the groundless refusal of the partnership issues listed above.

This annual, continuous, artificial turbulence and attempts at revolutions in this country must end, and we expect support from our friends in this, not the other way around!" - said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
