Gonadze Vineyards Expands Export Markets – Exports Now Account for Up to 70% of Sales

Gonadze Vineyards

Racha-based winery Gonadze Vineyards expanded its export markets in 2025, with exports now making up 60–70% of total sales, co-founder Zviad Gonadze told BM.GE. The company currently exports to 12 countries, with strong demand for its wines abroad.

According to Gonadze, semi-sweet wines remain the most in demand, while European markets are more profitable - prices there are roughly 20% higher compared to Russia. In 2025, the winery added South Korea and Japan as new destinations, sending initial test shipments of about 1,000 bottles each.

Gonadze Vineyards has been operating for 30 years and now cultivates 50 hectares of vineyards, producing nine wine varieties using traditional methods, including Aleksandrouli, Mujuretuli, Tsulukidze’s Tetra and others. The winery processes around 250 tons of grapes annually, though it has capacity for twice as much.

In terms of sales trends, Gonadze said 2024 was exceptionally strong with 40% growth, while 2025 posted a modest 4–5% increase. Despite global declines in wine consumption, the company remains cautiously optimistic and expects improved results in 2026.
