According to the Government’s press service, starting September 1, 2025, a three-month paid internship competition will be announced in public institutions, as well as in legal entities of public and private law within the public sector system.
Applicants will be able to submit their applications from September 1 to September 10, 2025, through the government-administered website www.hr.gov.ge, for more than 3,000 competitions announced by various agencies.
The statement explains:
“An intern may be any capable citizen of Georgia who knows the state language, is studying in the first stage of higher education (in the final year of studies) or the second stage, or has completed the first or second stage of higher education in the spring semester of the 2024–2025 academic year.
The selection criterion is the applicant’s academic performance (grading scale 71–100 points and/or GPA 2.7–4.0). In addition, agencies will determine further qualification requirements for interns depending on the structure and specifics of the unit.
The competition will be held in two stages – application screening and an interview. The evaluation of applicants will be carried out by a commission created by the head of the relevant public institution. In cases of equally qualified candidates, preference during the interview will be given to those with higher academic performance.
Selected candidates will complete their internships from October 1 to December 31, 2025.
Internships in public institutions that are considered part of the civil service will count toward civil service experience, while internships in legal entities of public and/or private law within public institutions will count as general work experience.”**
