Excess VAT of 285.6 million GEL has been returned to the private sector in January-April, 2020, - it becomes clear from the statistics requested by BM.GE from the Revenue Service.
To remind, as of the statement made by the government, process of excess VAT return should be widened due to the crisis of COVID-19 and it should be increased up to 1.2 billion GEL. According to this promise, more than 900 million should be returned in the remained months until the end of this year.
As of the statistics submitted by the Revenue Service, the volume of the returned excess VAT in the previous years has been as follows:
2019 - 572.9 million GEL;
2019 - 497.9 million GEL;
2017 - 217.8 million GEL;
2016 - 165.5 million GEL.
