The Georgian government has allocated an additional GEL 50,000 to the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary of the Patriarchate, according to Government Decree No. 2165 signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
Under the decree, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth is to provide the financial assistance through its program supporting higher education institutions.
The latest allocation comes after the government instructed the Education Ministry in April to provide GEL 43.035 million from the state budget to 53 educational institutions established by the Patriarchate. Of this amount, GEL 500,000 was allocated to the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary.
The decree does not specify whether the additional GEL 50,000 is part of the previously allocated amount or represents additional funding for the institution.
