The Members of the Cabinet of Ministers discussed 10 agenda items at the meeting held under the chairmanship of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday. Among others, a project was approved to define paragliding-related topics and safety standards. It was noted that this sphere is related to considerable safety risks, and until the adoption of the relevant legislative act, paragliding calls for legal regulation based on a provisional rule.
The proposed project approves the provisional rule for paraglider manufacturing, use, and safety, and pricing and payment for the activity defined by this rule.
The project defines the rights and obligations of persons involved in the process, mandatory assessment of the flying location’s advisability, and the relevant rule, also the matter of operator certification, requirements for pilots, categories/subcategories of pilots, their awarding/recognition, and examination rules, mandatory assessment of the operability of a paraglider and its components and relevant procedures, the competencies and rights/obligations of the federation, supervision over the federation’s performance, pricing for the implementation of the activity defined under the rule, and others.
