"Unfortunately, we have created such a vertical that the middle and lower echelons cannot take any steps unless they have an order from above. We are no longer talking about the European Union and high ideals here. It is simply that the government is becoming so distant from the people that they are digging their way back.
There are many examples in history when the government becomes distant from the people, and sooner or later it ends very badly. There is still time to take steps. These are two specific steps. One, unconditionally release the detainees and the second, to schedule new parliamentary elections in the near future, which will allow the people to express their objective choice," Giorgidze said.
