The government published a decree on domestic flights. According to the document, the Union of Georgian Airports can announce the immediate tender after the publication of the decree.
The draft of the decree, which determines the rates and frequencies of domestic flights, was discussed at the government meeting on March 27.
As of the published decree, a total of 11 local flights Tbilisi-Batumi-Tbilisi, as well as Mestia-Batumi-Mestia and Telavi-Batumi-Telavi are planned, for which more than GEL 18 million will be allocated from the state budget. Until now, the amount allocated from the budget for domestic flights was GEL 8 million per year.
As of the decree, the "Union of Georgian Airports" was asked to purchase air transport services on the Tbilisi-Batumi-Tbilisi air route through an electronic tender with a total value of no more than USD 3,049,973 equivalent in GEL. Flights must be fulfilled within 2 years from the conclusion of the contract.
As for Mestia-Batumi-Mestia, Telavi-Batumi-Telavi and other flights, the union of airports should announce a separate tender with a total value of not more than USD 5,601,140 equivalent in GEL. In this case, the flights will be performed within 1 year.
