The government launches a state program to boost the sales of non-standard apple crops, the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture reports.
Preliminary estimates indicate that the yield of non-standard apples this year will surpass 50,000 tons.
“Under the state program, the Rural Development Agency will subsidise 10 Tetri per kilogram of non-standard apples. This subsidy will be extended to fruit processing companies that buy at least 1 kilogram of non-standard apples from farmers at no less than 24 Tetri per kilogram by December 15, 2023,” the Ministry states.
