Greek carrier SKY express has commenced regular flights on the Athens-Yerevan-Athens route. Flights from Athens International Airport to Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport are operated three times a week - on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

According to Sergey Avetisyan, General Manager of Armenia International Airports CJSC, the addition of this route to Athens will significantly enhance the growing connections between Armenia and Greece, offering travelers alternative flight options.

SKY express Commercial Director Gerasimos Skaltsas emphasized that the new route not only meets the increasing demand for travel to Yerevan but also strengthens cultural and economic ties between the two countries. He noted that the airline provides travelers from Armenia the opportunity to explore Greece's rich heritage through its extensive domestic network.

Greek Ambassador to Armenia Christos Sofianopoulos, who attended the inaugural flight ceremony, highlighted that the new air link will foster trade, tourism, and interpersonal connections between the two friendly nations. He also pointed out the potential for Yerevan and Athens airports to serve as transit hubs for flights to Europe, Asia, and other regions.

SKY express operates the largest domestic flight network in Greece, covering 33 destinations, and is actively expanding its international network with 22 routes. Tickets for the new flights are available on the airline’s official website, skyexpress.com, and through travel agencies.
