On February 7, a tanker carrying 30,000 tons of gasoline arrived at the port of Poti from Antwerp, Belgium.
Givi Kachiuri, a representative of the oil company Gulf at the Poti Port, told BM.GE that this is the first time in Georgia’s fuel supply history that a cargo was loaded at an ExxonMobil refinery and transported approximately 5,500 kilometers to the country.
"On February 7, a tanker loaded with 30,000 tons of gasoline arrived at the port of Poti from Antwerp, Belgium. For the first time in the history of fuel supply to Georgia, the cargo was loaded at the ExxonMobil refinery and traveled 5,500 kilometers to the country.
The delivery includes G-Force Euro Regular (92), G-Force Premium (95), and G-Force Super (98) fuel categories. Independent laboratory tests have confirmed that the fuel fully complies with and even exceeds the EN 228 European quality standard.
The entire cargo belongs to the Gulf chain and ensures uninterrupted supply to Gulf gas stations across Georgia," Kachiuri said.
He added that the 30,000 tons of ExxonMobil gasoline were stored in tanks designed and built according to the API 650 standard, equipped with internal floating roofs.
"This technology reduces emissions, losses, and environmental impact. All tanks are coated on the inside with a special material to ensure maximum preservation of product quality. At the next stage, following the client’s instructions, the fuel will be transferred into both rail tank cars and tankers, according to the requested route," the Gulf representative noted.
