“Eighty-seven thousand patients have recovered from Hepatitis C. This means that their lives were saved. The disease stopped spreading and this is a success,” said Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze.
The Minister praised the efforts of the program participant clinics, especially Tengiz Tsertsvadze Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center.
According to Mikheil Sarjveladze, this experience will ensure the success of the Hepatitis B management program. He recommended individuals with Hepatitis B to apply to clinics.
“This disease is not completely cured. However, it goes into remission, which neutralizes the risk to human life. Upon joining the program, each patient will receive safe treatment, fully financed by the state,” he said.
The Minister added that the Hepatitis B program was constantly updated, and procedures were facilitated that ensured the quality of medication.
