Healthy beverage producer Henka increased domestic sales by more than 10% in the first half of 2026, although the result fell short of the company's expectations, Director Giorgi Jirkvalidze told BM.GE. He said the company anticipated stronger growth after expanding distribution beyond Tbilisi to cover most of western Georgia.
Despite a relatively cool season, Jirkvalidze described the first six months as successful, with sales growing in both domestic and export markets. He noted that demand for functional health drinks continues to rise globally, highlighting Henka's vitamin D-enriched water as one of the company's key innovations, although consumer awareness in Georgia is still developing. Kombucha remains the company's best-selling product.
Henka is also expanding internationally. The company has established regular exports to Israel and has already fulfilled repeat orders to both Israel and the United States. Jirkvalidze added that Gulf countries have also shown interest in the vitamin D water, though logistics and glass packaging remain challenges for export expansion.
Looking ahead, Henka aims to increase exports so they account for half of total sales within two years. The company is preparing to launch a diabetic-friendly version of one of its most popular kombucha flavors and is planning to expand production capacity to meet growing demand, while keeping prices unchanged despite higher operating costs.
