Irakli Kabulashvili, Director of OmnesTour declares that lack of high-spending tourism is related to the low pace of vaccination. He explains that tourists are still visiting Georgia, but mostly they are low-income visitors.
Kabulashvili notes, that tourists from Japan, China or the US cannot be found in Georgia due to the low rate of vaccination in the country.
“At this stage, Georgia is mostly visited by low-income tourists, those who do not mind vaccination rate in the country. We have tourists from the UAE, Qatar and Kazakhstan. They arrive at Kutaisi Airport. Actually, high-spending tourists are coming from Europe, America, as well as Asia, including China, Japan, Korea. However, they are no longer coming here. There used to be very large flows, but today their number is critically down, they have disappeared altogether," said Irakli Kabulashvili, director of OmnesTour.
