Mid-priced hotel Holiday Inn Express Avlabari will be opened in Tbilisi from September with Kazakh investment of 11 million USD.
Giorgi Jakhutashvili, the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Georgia and director of Capital Group told Forbes Talks that construction of the hotel was hampered due to the bad judicial system in the country and delay in the proceedings.
"In 2017, we bought land area in Avlabari to open a hotel. The investor had already spent 2 million GEL on the project, when a neighbor filed a lawsuit against the City Hall and demanded to stop the construction. Construction was halted for a long time. The dispute is over after 2 years, this investment has been implemented and the hotel plans to open in September,” Jakhutashvili said.
According to the schedule, Holiday Inn Express will be opened on September 19. A hotel with 123 rooms will employ over 80 persons. In addition, the hotel will also include 3 different sizes of meeting rooms.
