Honey Exports From Georgia Down By 64% - Where Does Georgia Sell The Product?

In 2024, 33.8 tons of honey worth USD 271,150 were sold from Georgia, which was 64.41% decrease in value and 69.4% in volume compared to 2023.

According to Geostat, honey exports from Georgia got active from 2019, reaching a record high in 2022, after which a downward trend has been observed.

Honey exports to the European Union have also declined sharply. According to Geostat, in 2024, only 1.12 tons of natural honey were exported to the European Union, with an export value of USD 6,510. For comparison, in 2023, 72.64 tons of honey worth USD 447,890 were exported to the EU - the decrease was 98.5%. Honey exports to the European Union were also reduced in 2022.

In 2024, honey was exported from Georgia only to Latvia among the EU countries. Last year, France was no longer among the export markets, where Georgia sold the most of the honey in 2023, 41.4 tons worth USD 235 thousand. Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Germany are no longer on the list of export markets.

As for the United States of America, in the 12 months of last year, 3.6 tons of honey were exported from Georgia, and the export value increased by 95.5%, from USD 19,450 to USD 38,040.

In 2024, the most honey, 7 tons, was sold to the United Arab Emirates.
