Ninotsminda Oil Company is drilling a new horizontal wellbore at the Ninotsminda oil field under a production-sharing agreement with the Georgian state.
The project aims to increase oil production from the field’s No. 4 well. A new wellbore is being drilled in a different direction because the previous horizontal wellbore had become flooded with water. Modern horizontal drilling technology is expected to improve access to oil-bearing formations and maximize the use of the field’s resources.
The ongoing works were inspected by Ekaterine Sisauri, Director General of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation.
