The hotel Garemo, located in Racha, is expanding and beginning the rehabilitation of its existing large cottage. The co-founder of the property, Tamar Davituliani, shared the details in an interview with BM.GE. According to her, the investment value of the project is approximately 200,000 GEL.
“We have one large cottage that is undergoing complete renovation. The interior, furniture, and infrastructure will all be fully updated. At the same time, we plan to improve the entire surrounding area to offer guests greater comfort,” said Davitulianni.
Currently, Garemo operates with four cottages, but after the expansion, the property will offer a total of nine rooms. According to the co-founder, the new units will be hotel-style, fully isolated spaces featuring different concepts—some will have fireplaces, while others will include jacuzzis.
Davituliani notes that demand for the property is consistently high, especially during the winter season, when snowy landscapes and fireplace-equipped cottages are particularly attractive to visitors. As for pricing, rates range from 180 to 250 GEL, depending on the season, occupancy, and specific room features.
“Prices are generally within the 180–250 GEL range. During periods of high demand, such as holidays, prices reach their peak, though we try to maintain flexibility during regular days,” she explained.
According to her, the majority of guests are Georgian tourists who typically contact the property through social media. However, despite the steady demand, winter brings certain challenges due to infrastructure issues and weather conditions.
“There is demand, but in winter everything depends on the snow and conditions—whether the road is open, and whether there will be electricity and water. That’s why we accept bookings only one to two weeks in advance. We don’t want to refuse guests later or issue refunds,” she said.
At this stage, Hotel Garemo employs four people, while in the summer season staffing doubles.
