“Delikato” has been operating on Georgia’s food market for 21 years, evolving from a small family kitchen founded in 2005 into a multi-profile company providing mobile catering services. Founder and managing partner Davit Zakaraia says the business began at a time when ready-made meals were rare in supermarkets and the concept of buying food by weight was almost unfamiliar, creating a market gap the company decided to fill.
The early years were challenging: the company started with a small kitchen and minimal equipment, relying on high-quality homemade dishes. Growing demand quickly pushed Delikato to introduce delivery services, something almost nonexistent at the time. Zakaraia recalls printing leaflets, visiting offices, and even personally assisting with deliveries. Within months, the team faced a turning point, eventually choosing to push forward rather than shut down.
As demand kept rising, Delikato expanded its services and accidentally discovered a new direction, catering for receptions. What began with one unexpected request soon grew into a core business line, leading the company to hire professional chefs, drivers, and additional staff. Technology and marketing also advanced: a website was created, later followed by social media channels and advertising platforms. Today, Delikato can organize a 200-person reception anywhere in Georgia within 24 hours.
The company’s menu now includes 150–200 dishes and 30–40 types of lunchboxes, with main operations focused on receptions and office catering. Delikato is also developing dessert and healthy food lines, expected to fully launch in 2026. According to Zakaraia, the company’s strongest asset is its team, many employees have been with the business since its early years. After 21 years of growth, Delikato plans to enter a new stage in 2026, further professionalizing processes and expanding its services.
