Three months ago, a new normative act entered into force, according to which the granting of a driver's license includes two steps. In particular, future drivers have to prove their knowledge by driving in the city along with the closed field.
As the founder of "Art Drive" Giorgi Berishvili told TV-Program Business Morning, 17 out of 200 people passed the driving license test on the street in the first month after this amendment came into force. According to him, up to 70% of the students will pass the exam after the students get used to the change.
"Granting driver's license includes two steps. They have one month to pass the first stage and 1 year to pass the second stage. In the first month, 17 out of 200 students passed the exam. Then it gradually improved and the number of submissions increased, reaching 60-70%. (based on the statistics of our students)", Berishvili noted.
According to the founder of "Art Drive", his company increased tariffs by 10%: "On average, theory, practice and taking the test are within GEL 500-600, which means that the tax has increased by 10%".
Giorgi Berishvili also spoke about the challenges related to the new procedures for obtaining a driver's license.
"When the exam moved to the city, as far as I know, there are no cars and students have to stand in line for a long time. They may wait up to 2 months to take the exam," he said.
