ტელევიზია

Television broadcasters operating in Georgia have submitted their 2025 revenue reports to the Communications Commission. In total, TV stations earned 106 million GEL from advertising, sponsorships, and other commercial activities last year, an increase of 15.9 million GEL, or 18%, compared to 2024.

Commercial revenue for broadcasters includes the following categories: archive rentals, announcements, web banner income, commercial advertising, content sales, product placement, advertising spots, airtime sales, and sponsorship deals.

In addition to these commercial streams, the television sector relies heavily on state funding (for Public Broadcaster and Adjara TV), as well as donations from owners, contributions from third parties, and other non-broadcast income sources.

State funding remained unchanged last year at 100.5 million GEL. Donations from TV owners totaled 9.5 million GEL, and contributions from other parties along with additional non-broadcast income amounted to 16 million GEL. Altogether, Georgian TV stations received 126 million GEL from non-commercial sources in 2025, exceeding their commercial revenues.

TV companies also use loans from commercial banks and parties connected to their owners, although such credit information is not submitted to the Communications Commission and therefore remains unknown.
