Online gambling company Europebet, owned by Sweden’s Betsson AB, reported 167 million GEL in revenue (GGR) from the Georgian market in 2024, up by 2 million GEL compared to the previous year. The company’s net profit also increased to 38 million GEL.
The government taxed Europebet 41 million GEL on its gambling operations last year. This includes:
- 27 million GEL from online casino tax (15% of GGR)
- 14.2 million GEL from sports betting tax (7%)
Other major expenses included:
- Salaries: 26 million GEL
- Licenses: 22.7 million GEL
- Payment provider fees: 18.3 million GEL
- Marketing: 12.3 million GEL
From 2025, the online casino tax rate has increased to 20%, likely impacting future profits.
Globally, Betsson AB earned €1.1 billion in 2024, with a net profit of €184 million, operating in over 20 countries.
