Hotel "Gistola", opened in 2021 in Mestia, offers its vacationers a seasonal pool for 60 people. Due to the high demand, its founder, Irakli Gurchiani, invested more than $600,000 to build the pool.
According to the founder, the construction of the swimming pool is not finished, so in the current season it serves only hotel guests, however, after the pool is fully operational, Mestia vacationers will be able to visit "Gistola".
According to him, operating a pool for a hotel in Svaneti is also related to financial challenges, which is why the cost of accommodation for one night will increase from the next season.
"Operation of the pool in Svaneti is very difficult, its size is 15x6 meters, it is expensive to heat so much water with electricity, there is no natural gas at all. That's why we refrained at first, but the demand is so great that we added it at the expense of increasing the accommodation price. Until now, the cost of a single room was $90, and a double room - $100. Starting next season, each will increase by $20. The pool will serve the customers in winter, as well as in summer", - notes Irakli Gurchiani.
The 4-star hotel "Gistola" in Mestia was opened 2 years ago with an investment of $5 million. In addition to the pool, the space of the tourist facility includes 45 rooms, a restaurant, a lounge bar and a conference space.
