Mobile operators operating in Georgia have already submitted their financial results for 2024 to the Communications Commission. According to the report, last year, operators' revenues increased by 77.5 million GEL, or 10%, reaching 865 million GEL.
In 2024, the number of subscribers of Georgian mobile operators increased by 2%, to 5,648,065, which means that there are an average of 1.52 active numbers per inhabitant of the country, or almost every second person has two phone numbers.
The 10% increase in mobile operators' revenues was due to the increase in the number of subscribers, as well as the 19% increase in demand for the mobile Internet segment.
Mobile operators' revenues in 2024 are distributed as follows:
- Magti - 409,913,865 GEL, 2,341,775 subscribers, 41.5% of the market, revenue growth of 6.5%;
- Silknet - 304,553,049 GEL, 1,974,614 subscribers, 35% of the market, revenue growth of 10.8%;
- Cellfie Mobile - 148,898,037 GEL, 1,313,853 subscribers, 23.3% of the market, revenue growth of 17.7%.
According to financial indicators, the revenue generated by one subscriber per month, or ARPU, is particularly important for operators. In December 2024, one Magti subscriber paid 15 GEL for communication per month, which has increased by 39 tetri annually, the average monthly expenditure of one Silknet subscriber is 13.30 GEL per month, which has decreased by 2 tetri in a year, and the average monthly expenditure of one Cellfie Mobile subscriber is 9.84 GEL, which has increased by 0.34 GEL annually.
The report on the activities of mobile operators shows that as of December 2024, 3,963,777 subscribers used mobile Internet monthly, which is 70% of the total subscribers, while last year this figure was 68% of subscribers.
According to statistics, as of October 2024, one subscriber consumed an average of 15.4 gigabytes of Internet per month, which is an annual increase of 1.56 gigabytes.
Overall, mobile Internet traffic in Georgia increased by 19% in 2024 and amounted to 670,398 terabytes.
