According to the National Bank, in December 2023, 9.9 million operations were performed with ATMs (up by 1.1 million compared to November) in total, and the average cost of one operation was GEL 430.
As of the statistics, in 2023, GEL 42.3 billion transactions (mainly withdrawals) were performed through ATMs, which was 13% more than in 2022.
Moreover, the volume of operations carried out through POS terminals and electronic payment channels increased by 40% and amounted to GEL 25.1 billion in 2023.
According to the NBG, there are a total of 2,846 ATMs in Georgia, therefore, each of them performed an average of GEL 1.5 million operations in December, and GEL 48,000 operations - per day.
As for POS terminals, their number mounts to 107,854. In December, GEL 17 thousand operations or GEL 534 payments were performed with each terminal per day.
