In 2023, the population of Georgia spent GEL 788 million for mobile communication, which was GEL 91 million or 13% more compared to the same period of the previous year.
The growth of companies' revenues is due to the increased number of subscribers in the country. As of October, there are 5,470,196 active subscribers in the country, which is 92,000 more than in 2022.
Number of subscribers and financial results of the companies for 10M2023:
"Magti" - 2,278,219 subscribers, income 384,958,266 GEL, annual growth of 12%;
"Silknet" - 1,859,784 subscribers, income 274,819,729 GEL, annual growth of 15%;
"Cellfie" - 1,315,948 subscribers, income 126,516,955 GEL, annual growth of 12%.
The number of subscribers increased the most for "Silknet" in 2023, which had more than 64,000 subscribers. "Magti" ranked the second with the increase of subscribers, which added 33 thousand users, while the number of subscribers of "Cellfie" decreased by 17 thousand.
Along with the increased number of users, the average revenue per subscriber has also increased. "Magti" subscriber pays GEL 14.61 per month (57 tetri increase), "Silknet" subscriber - 13.32 GEL (1.12 tetri increase), Cellfie subscriber - 8.97 GEL (1.30 tetri increase).
According to a report published by the Communications Commission, the revenue of mobile operators is becoming less and less dependent on making voice calls.
Mobile Internet usage has increased. In October 2023, subscribers of mobile operators used 51,469 terabytes of the Internet, which was an annual increase of 23%.
