How much will Georgia's economy grow in 2025? - Giorgi Khishtovani's Forecast

გიორგი ხიშტოვანი

Giorgi Khishtovani, director of the PMC Research Center, predicts a 2-3% growth in the economy this year as of the base scenario. He stated this on BMGTV.

“I would take a 2-3% growth as the base scenario for economic growth, unlike Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili. In addition, if we quickly end the political crisis, the growth in the economy might reach 5% in the optimistic scenario. But, GD is not giving us any signs of this,” the director of the PMC Research Center said.

According to Kishtovani, the bigger problem is lack of investments and the possible layoffs in the medium or long term.

The director of the PMC Research Center declares, that problems in the economy might not appear immediately.

"The economic downturn should affect us more in the medium and long term, rather than immediately. Problems will not appear between February and March," he said, adding that the irresponsible management of the country must be put to an end.
