The government has approved a change in the rules for the procurement of goods and services for United Airports of Georgia. According to the changes published in the Legislative Herald of Georgia ('the Herald'), no more than 4 million EUR should be paid to Wizz Air for each based aircraft over three years.

At this stage, the Hungarian low-cost airline is operating with 3 based ships from Kutaisi Airport. The air company announced to add the fourth ship by the end of the year. As a result, the company will receive no more than 4 million EUR from United Airports of Georgia within three years, excluding VAT, in accordance with the number of transported passengers.

According to the old decree, the previous amount was 5 million EUR. In order for an airline to receive this amount, it must have at least 150,000 departing passengers.

Apart from this, the decree also obliges to add at least one new destination, which has not been regularly performed at the relevant airport in the last 6 months.
