Chef Guram Bagdoshvili declares that "Russian law" is unacceptable to him. The fact is that for the third day now, the Parliament is considering the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence". Georgian citizens are holding rallies on Rustaveli Avenue.

BM.GE contacted Chef Guram Bagdoshvili to evaluate current events and "Russian Law".

"I am against everything that stops democracy and hinders the economic development of the country. I condemn what is happening in Rustaveli today. I don't know anything about the law, but since 90% of my friends, relatives, and citizens of my country are against it, so it prevents the country's development, stability, democracy and freedom," said Chef Guram Bagdoshvili.

The Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia considered and approved the draft law On Transparency of Foreign Influence in the first reading after a 12-hour-long discussion.

The amendments provide for the registration of non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entities and media as “the organizations pursuing the interests of a foreign power” if a certain amount of their income, over 20 percent, is received from abroad.
