Itsik Moshe, President of the Georgia-Israel Chamber of Commerce, has expressed optimism about the future of the Middle East following the current escalation between Israel and Iran. Speaking on BMGTV’s “Business Morning”, Moshe said he believes that the conflict could ultimately pave the way for a more peaceful and prosperous regional future.
“I expect that the government in Iran will change and we will get a large but friendly country,” Moshe stated. “The people allow me to say this. I believe that a golden age will begin in the region.”
Moshe emphasized that the core of the long-standing tension lies in Iran’s opposition to Israel’s presence in the region, suggesting that a shift in Iran’s political direction could lead to historic regional transformation.
His remarks come in the wake of renewed military confrontation between Israel and Iran. On Sunday, June 15, the conflict intensified when the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes on Tehran, sparking fires in the Iranian capital. According to the Iranian Health Ministry, 128 people were killed and 900 injured in the attacks.
In retaliation, Iran fired ballistic missiles into Israeli territory, resulting in dozens of casualties and several hundred injuries. The exchange marks one of the most severe escalations in recent years, further deepening geopolitical tensions across the region.
Moshe also touched on the implications of the conflict for Georgia-Israel relations, suggesting that economic and strategic ties could evolve further as the geopolitical landscape changes.
While the outcome of the current conflict remains uncertain, Moshe’s vision of a “golden age” hinges on regime change in Iran and a regional shift toward cooperation and coexistence.
