Kazbegi’s road conditions and traffic have become a major challenge for corporate tours, ODA DMC founder Vika Sharia said on BMGTV’s Women’s Narrative. She said predictable travel times are important for corporate groups, making it difficult to offer Kazbegi as a destination.

“I can barely sell Kazbegi anymore because the roads are in poor condition and the traffic jams are completely abnormal. With private clients, you can explain the situation and let them decide whether they are willing to spend 10 hours in traffic. I cannot offer that to a corporate group, so unfortunately I avoid recommending Kazbegi,” Sharia said.

She said Kakheti has made significant progress in terms of infrastructure, with improved roads and new overpasses, while the region also offers many quality hotels, wineries and restaurants. Sharia added that tourism decentralization is an important priority for her company.

As an example, she cited a seven-day corporate tour planned for October, bringing 40 Polish guests to Tskaltubo and other parts of Imereti and Samegrelo. She also highlighted a summer tour for 47 guests based around Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, featuring trekking, rafting, camping and other activities. “The regions offer fantastic and practically unlimited opportunities,” she said.
