Donkey Farm Sakhe-Dari taks about the challenges with BM.GE, noting that demand is high, but there is no milk. According to him, they have advance reservations for milk until August, but at the moment they have no more milk and cannot meet the demand.
“The demand for donkey milk has increased a lot. At the moment I have no more donkey milk, but the demand is such that I have advance reservations even for July-August. What should I do? I am stuck. I cannot satisfy my own market. Domestic consumption of donkey milk has doubled. They mainly buy it for children. There was interest from both China and America, but I refused them. I was unable to meet the demand.
I have 120 heads of cattle. Last year, I increased the annual yield to 2.5 tons on my own. We could not do more. You cannot get donkey milk in the world, because the demand for it is very high. Accordingly, they come to me. Donkey milk costs 200 EUR in Germany and 300 USD in Turkey. "On my farm, donkey milk costs 80 GEL, but I plan to increase the price to 120 GEL," says the entrepreneur. He also talks about increased costs, which are about 30%.
Donkey farm "Sakhe-Dari" is located in the village of Saakadze, Gardabani district, on an area of 20-30 hectares and was founded in 2016. Its annual productivity last year was 2.5 tons. The farm has 120 head of cattle.
