Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze met US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan. The parties discussed issues related to vaccination at the meeting.
After the meeting, the diplomat once again stressed the importance of vaccination, both for the protection of human health and for the opening of the country's economy.
"The United States is pleased to give COVID-19 vaccine to the Georgian people. Today I have met with Ekaterine Tikaradze to discuss logistical issues, which is quite complex. We are in close coordination with the Ministry of Health to get Georgia vaccinated as soon as possible and also to assist in the vaccination campaign. Vaccination of each of us is extremely important.
As we have seen in the example of the world, vaccination allows us to rebuild the economy, children return to schools and people - to jobs. It is important for the population to use this opportunity and I hope that as soon as the vaccines are shipped, Georgians will use this opportunity and get vaccinated,” said the diplomat.
