“All allies urge the Georgian government to stay on its path they decided a couple of years ago,” said Mark Rutte, NATO Secretary General.

The NATO Secretary General remarked on the question about protests in Georgia. According to Mark Rutte, peace and stability is in the interest of all Georgians.

“The reports of violence are deeply concerning and I condemn them univocally. I urge the government to advocate for peace and stability, and I think it is in the interest of all Georgians. NATO is an alliance based on democracy, values, freedom and principles of democracy. I strongly believe that these values are the basis of our collective peace and prosperity.

What I am seeing at this moment is that all allies are making it clear that any actions that undermine democracy in Georgia or take democracy further, and the country’s integration into NATO and EU, really urge the Georgian government to stay Georgia on its path they decided a couple of years ago,” he said.
