Ia’s Valleys Winery, based in Akhalsopeli, Zugdidi Municipality, is preparing to expand its operations with a new agro-tourism complex and hotel. The project, announced by the winery’s founder Levan Konjaria, aims to transform the winery into a major wine tourism hub in Samegrelo.

Konjaria highlighted that the initiative goes beyond winemaking, incorporating livestock, fish breeding, and cheese production to create a full-fledged gastronomic experience. “There is almost no such type of tourist space in Samegrelo today, while such projects have developed quite a bit in Kakheti and Kartli,” he noted, emphasizing the region’s unique natural setting with mountains, rivers, and proximity to the sea.

Construction of the hotel is scheduled to begin next year, with an expected investment of approximately GEL 1.5 million. The complex is considered as a modern destination for tourists seeking both cultural and culinary experiences in the region.

Founded in 2018, Ia’s Valleys focuses on bioorganic, traditional Qvevri wine production. The winery currently manages five hectares of vineyards featuring Ojaleshi, Chkhvitiluri, and other Mingrelian grape varieties, with plans to expand further.

In addition to domestic sales, the company is negotiating exports to Germany, with a first test batch of around 300 bottles priced at 25 EUR each expected to ship by year-end. Ia’s Valleys currently employs about 10 people, with all products, from grapes to wine, produced from its own raw materials.
